A 2019 Dental Surgery graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), Dr. Shuaib Ibrahim Akanni, has emerged the overall best student at the just concluded Young Officers’ Course Medical (YOC 40/23) of the Nigerian Army School of Medical Sciences.
Dr. Akanni, who was a former Commanding Officer of the Naval Cadet in LASU, was announced the top student at the close of the programme earlier this month.
The Young Officers’ Course is a rigorous three-month military and academic training program that assesses officers from various units across the Nigerian Military on general knowledge, service writing, staff duties, emotional intelligence, teamwork, command and control, ICT, and medical knowledge among others.
Successful completion of the course is basic requirement for promotion to the next rank and for representing the Nigerian Army in various capacities, both domestically and internationally.
The Vice Chancellor of LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has congratulated Dr. Akanni on his exceptional achievement.
