13 year-old rape survivor says 94-year-old suspect rubbed concoction on her private part before attack

A 94-year-old herbalist, Mohammed Abubakar, has been arrested for defiling a 13-year-old girl at Tappare ward, Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The incident occurred on August 12 when the victim was passing by the suspect’s house.

Report says, the herbalist called her into the house and took advantage of her by having unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

Investigation also revealed that the suspect rubbed a concoction in fluid form on the victim’s private part before penetrating her, which made her to fall ill afterwards.

The defilement according to report would have gone unnoticed if not that the girl fell sick following the incident and had to confess her ordeal to her mum who then reported to the Police.

As reported by Security News Alert, the Adamawa Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the incident.

Nguroje noted that the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, vexed by the old man’s action, ordered a thorough and clinical investigation into the matter, which culminated in the arrest of the suspect.

The PPRO further revealed that the suspect is said to have been in the habit of deceiving young females by giving them confectioneries.

The CP, who frowns at the ugly incident, has directed the officer in charge of the Family Support Unit of the command to take over the investigation and ensure diligent prosecution of the suspect.

He also called on members of the public particularly parents to be watchful and guard their wards against criminally minded elements while he urged them to join force with the Command to fight all forms of gender-based violence.
