20 women-led businesses get N40m support

Amid economic challenges, the Nimbus Aid Project has awarded N40 million in advertising support to 20 inspiring women entrepreneurs to enhance their visibility, connect them with new customers, and accelerate their growth.

The social impact initiative driven by Nimbus Media Ltd. was the focus of a prize-giving ceremony held in Lagos.

The CEO of Nimbus Media Ltd, Wale Adegoke, acknowledged the current business obstacles and stressed the potential for turning adversity into opportunity.

In his remark, the project’s convener highlighted the importance of supporting women-led businesses, recognizing them as the nation’s backbone; adding that their unwavering commitment and resilience have allowed them to rise above the most trying circumstances.

“As a community, Nigerians must ensure that these businesses not only survive but thrive, and the Nimbus Aid Project exemplifies our shared commitment to this responsibility. It is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together to uplift and empower one another,” he added.

In her keynote address, the Chief Stakeholder Engagement Officer of Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities (SANEF) Nigeria, Uche Uzoebo emphasized the link between building sustainable and inclusive business ecosystems and societal impact.

She explained how the business landscape can catalyze positive change, emphasizing the broader implications of fostering an environment that supports women-led businesses.

In the same vein, Dr. Bunmi-Kole Dawodu of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) cited a McKinsey report, which indicates that global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) could rise by up to 26percent if women’s economic participation equal that of men.

The Nimbus Aid Project, established in 2016, has a history of supporting organizations, with a focus on women-led ones.
