3 Kwara siblings found dead in a car

A mother who had gone to buy provisions in preparation for the food her children would take to school the following day has returned to meet the three kids dead.

The three children were, on Sunday, found dead inside a car parked inside their compound in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The deceased siblings, a boy and two girls, reportedly suffocated inside a car parked in their compound at No 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters, Ilorin.

It was gathered that their mother, Shade Silifat, went out to buy noodles for them in  preparation for Monday morning school meal when the incident occurred.

Before she returned around 2pm, the children had locked themselves inside the car and had suffocated as a result.

Silifat discovered their footwear outside the parked car and raised the alarm after forcing the car’s doors open.

The children were first taken to Olutayo Clinic near their residence for medical attention; but they were referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where the children were confirmed dead.

The have since been buried at a Muslim cemetery according to Islamic rites.

The Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ejire Toun, has not confirmed the incident.
