7 rescued from collapsed two-storey building in Lagos

Seven people have been rescued from a newly constructed two-storey building that collapsed on Wednesday at 12, Cameroun Street, Off Ewenla in Mushin area of Lagos State.

According to a statement by Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the rescue team arrived promptly at the scene. They found the building had recently been constructed.

The rescued individuals, consisting of three females and four males, were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu said the rescue team thoroughly searched the rubble and found no victims trapped beneath the collapsed structure.

The affected area has been cordoned off, and rescue operations are ongoing.
