8 nabbed for building shrine on main road in Lagos

Eight persons have been arrested for constructing a shrine on the main road at Egbe, Ikotun, Lagos State.

They were arrested with charms and amulets and the building has been demolished.

This was made known on Saturday [today] by the Lagos State Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, via his verified X handle @tokunbo_wahab.

In related developments around the state, the Maintenance Enforcement and Compliance Department of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources on Friday sealed off properties of defaulters who failed to abate the infractions observed within/around their premises on the expiration of the moratorium given them.

Some of the properties are;
• No 2, Ayo Elegbede Street, Aguda, Surulere for dumping Sewage sludge on the road setback

• No 10, Nauru on Iwo Street, Surulere for dumbing building materials on the road.

• No 19, Oduduwa Street, Surulere for dumping building materials on the road/road setback
