Abia Govt promises to fix failed portions of Osisioma flyover

Governor Alex Otti of Abia says that plans are underway to rehabilitate the failed portions of the Osisioma flyover, near Aba.

Otti spoke during the inauguration of the Aba North Local Government Area (LGA) Administrative Office Complex, saying that some portions of the flyover had failed.

He said: “The Osisioma Flyover that was completed in 2022 has started giving way.

“Government is a continuum, and anything that was not done well will be done well by us.”

He directed the Commissioner for Works to begin immediate repairs, to make the flyover safe for road users.

The governor affirmed his vision to restore Aba’s historic reputation as an industrial hub, announcing plans for more infrastructure development in the city.

Otti commended the Mayor of Aba North LGA, Chief John Udeagbala, for the swift and quality completion of the office complex in less than one year.

He said that his administration deliberately appointed capable hands for Abia’s 17 LGAs and expressed satisfaction with their contributions.

He affirmed that Abia welcomes all residents, regardless of their state of origin, “because effective leadership and inclusive governance remains our government’s priority”.

In an address, the lawmaker representing Aba North Constituency, Mr Aaron Uzodike, said that the administration’s development initiatives had played a major role in transforming Aba.

Uzodike commended the governor for his leadership style and dedication to implementing his rebuilding agenda.

Also, Udeagbala said that the decision to rehabilitate the office complex was informed by the need to boost productivity of the LG’s workforce.

He thanked the governor for his support to all the programmes that he carried out in the LGA.

In a remark, a businessman, Chief Emmanuel Nwaka, commended the Otti’s administration for prioritising infrastructure development in the state.
