Abuja-based barber and Wizkid fan, Callistus Okolie, has lamented that a N2m promised him by an X user who also appears to be Wizkid fan, may never get to him as many netizens have opened parody accounts, inboxing same to the person who made the N2m promise, and claiming to be Okolie.
The X user tweets as @MrDablue, and had promised to give Okolie N2m when Davido slammed him on social media on Sunday.
Okolie attracted Mr. Dablue’s attention on Sunday after saying that Davido is the third biggest musician in the Nigerian music industry, ranking him after Wizkid and one other.
Davido responded by tweeting, “@kallystouch I have saved your picture. I would have come to Abuja, and you would have cut my hair that is almost finished, but you like social media. My last three barbers, I opened shops for them. That is how you missed your generation’s blessing.”
To which @MrDablue had tweeted, “Who has that barber guy’s contact, 2 million naira for him. Davido is not God. Someone just sent me 200k to add to this, this guy will be rich forever.”
Okolie has however, declared that he had yet to receive the N2m cash gift promised him by @MrDablue. According to him, contrary to speculations, he has not received any money from anybody.
However, confirming that he had not received the money, Okolie said, “Yes, someone promised to give me N2m, but I have not received any money.
“Nobody has contacted me. I have not received the money and I have not received a message from him. I dropped my number on his X.com page and I tagged him to everything I wrote.”
Okolie lamented that the multiple parody accounts being opened in his name may be responsible for the delay.
“The thing is that many people have created fake accounts with my name, so that is a big problem. I saw that he posted not long ago asking why many people were sending him private messages with my name claiming that they are me.
“I’m the real person. I just need someone who is close to him and can tell him that I am the real person. That is what I’m just praying for now, and that is why I’m tagging him to everything I post,” he added.
He dismissed comments that his description of Davido as the third biggest musician in the Nigerian music industry and Wizkid as the biggest was because he was seeking cheap attention from the ‘Jaiye Jaiye’ crooner.
“People can say whatever they want to say. I am forever a loyal fan of Wizkid. That does not mean I don’t love Davido. I love Davido too, but I am a big fan of Wizkid,” he submitted.
Responding in a video, Okolie said, “FC does not beg, write it down, FC does not beg. Wizkid remains my 001 in the music industry, no cap. I did not say that to hurt anyone or to pull anybody down.
“Again, there is a statement Davido made that he was coming to Abuja and I would have been his barber, I would have been the person to cut his hair, how?
“Do you know me before that I would have been your barber? If not for my comment, would you have replied to me?
“Let’s be realistic, do you know me before? You don’t know me before. FC is number one.
“Apart from that, I’m not begging anybody, Davido is not my helper, because whoever will help me will not stress me, Portable has said it before.”
