Mrs. Patience Eno, the wife of Akwa Ibom Governor, is dead. She was aged 57.
The state Information Commissioner, Ini Ememobong, disclosed the news in a Press release.
Ememobong said in a statement in Uyo on Friday [today] that the governor’s wife died on Thursday in the presence of family members.
He said that further details concerning the sad incident would be provided by the family.
The commissioner urged members of the public to support the Akwa Ibom first family with prayers during the period of pain.
“The family kindly requests privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
“The governor appreciates everyone that has stood by the first family during this period.
“He assures that in spite of the personal loss, his commitment to the service of the state remains unwavering,” the statement reads in part.
Late Mrs. Eno was the founder of Golden Initiative For All, a platform she used to support vulnerable people in the society.
