Bank worker allegedly commits suicide in office premises

A 32-year-old woman identified as Amarachi Ugochukwu reportedly committed suicide on Monday, January 8, 2024.

The incident occurred at Globus Bank’s Ikorodu Branch in Lagos, where the deceased worked as a marketing staff.

Amarachi’s alleged suicide note

Reports indicate that Amarachi came to work that morning but later left her desk. When her colleagues tried calling her line, they discovered that she had left her phone on her desk.

Initially, they reportedly assumed that she had stepped out, but it was confirmed by security guards that she hadn’t left the premises.

The potion she allegedly drank

During the search, they allegedly found one of the staff toilets locked from the inside.

Upon forcefully opening the door, Amarachi’s motionless body was reportedly discovered on the floor, along with a bottle of a notorious poison agent.

Eyewitnesses alleged that she left a suicide note in her diary, which reads:

“My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem right at all; I see extreme hardship. I can’t bear the pain anymore. I’m sorry, mom; I am sorry, dad. I’m sorry, Meme, Okwe, Toto Nazor, Chuchu, and Ifunanya. Lord, have mercy on me!”
