Bobrisky injured as immigration removes him from Amsterdam-bound KLM flight

In what appears to be a new level to his unending clash with law enforcement agents, social media influencer and crossdresser, Mr. Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, said he was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight and detained by immigration officers late on Thursday night while attempting to travel out.

The 33-year-old popular cross-dresser alerted his followers to his current tribulation via his Instagram page, stating that he sustained injuries during an altercation with the immigration officers.

Bobrisky alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is responsible for his detention.

He wrote, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”

It may be recalled that, on October 22, Bobrisky was intercepted at the Seme border while also attempting to leave the country.

The controversy surrounding Bobrisky began in April when he was sentenced to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos for naira abuse.

While he was believed to have been officially incarcerated at Kirikiri Prison, it later emerged that the controversial social media siren spent only three weeks in the facility before being discreetly moved to a private residence.

This sparked widespread speculation that his early release and special treatment were facilitated through bribery, with accusations of a N15 million payment made to officials to secure his transfer and preferential treatment.

The situation escalated in late September 2024 when another social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, aka, VeryDarkMan, posted an audio recording allegedly involving Bobrisky.

In the leaked recording, Bobrisky purportedly claimed that music artist Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, had approached him during his imprisonment, seeking ₦10 million to secure a presidential pardon.

In response, Falana and Falz issued a cease-and-desist letter on 16 October 2024, demanding a retraction and public apology for what they described as defamatory statements.

Bobrisky, however, denied making these claims, stating he was not responsible for the leaked content and urging the Falanas to hold VeryDarkMan accountable instead.
