South Africans and Nigerians are currently engaged in cyber war against each other, with the attendant trending hashtags such as #SouthAfricans, #Nigerians, #Xenophobia and #Zimbabweans in the mix.
Trouble started when South Africans started ordering Bolt in Nigeria, all the way from their country and cancelling when the rider gets to the pick-up location.
According to the South African pranksters, Nigeria’s currency is weak, noting that they can’t pay cancellation fees.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the South African pranksters wanted to start reporting fake crimes to Nigerian police lines.
And if you’re wondering how that could be possible, merely setting your device on VPN will give you any country of choice as your platform, no matter where you are.
Immediately Nigerians got wind of the pranks as affected persons began to share their ordeals online, Nigeria took over the pranks and successfully created maximum Bolt surge in Cape Town and Johannesburg, rendering South Africans stranded over unavailability and expensive rides.
A Nigerian Bolt driver narrates his ordeal:
1 werey south Africa booked me from ikorodu, I drove over 20min to his destination wereh just cancel ride. I 1 cry

They don’t know that Nigerians can crumble business for them. They’ve gone too far. They always poke at Nigerians when we simply want to live life. They will hear it. The rage Tinubu should have faced will now be on them.

Nigerian Bolt drivers in South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe affected:
Any retaliation by Nigerians would primarily affect Nigerians and Zimbabweans in South Africa, as they make up a significant portion of Bolt drivers in the country, rather than South Africans themselves.
