This is following the outbreak of cholera in Lagos and some other states in the Country.

Abayomi said although the number of cholera cases had reduced, but the bacteria is still active in communities thereby posing danger.

The Commissioner urged those with symptoms of the disease to seek medical attention immediately in recognised hospitals.

Abayomi enjoined Lagos residents to maintain good hygiene to avoid contracting cholera or other water and airborne diseases.

The Commissioner said fifteen people had died from the cholera outbreak.

Meanwhile, fears increase as schools resume on Wednesday after the mid-term break and the Sallah holiday that school children are at risk of contracting cholera, a food and water-borne disease caused by the ingestion of the vibrio cholera bacteria.
