A SportyBet client, On God, with X handle @_kennyblaze1391, has taken the betting app operators to task.
SportyBet describes itself as “a global leader in sports betting and real money gaming. And also as “Official partner of Real Madrid and Man City.”
It appears that a winning bet had been cancelled and, as much as the app operators seem to provide explanations, @_kennyblaze1391 isn’t buying into it, as he appears to have provided the details of the bet.
SportyBet is quoted to have written: “Thank you for providing us with your details. As checked, the match between Hrunamenn/Laugd lir and Fjolnir was canceled.
“Please be informed that the 48 hours are yet to be completed from when the match was scheduled to be played. Please be rest assured that if the above-mentioned match is not resumed even after 48 hours, the bet associated with the said match will be voided and the bet slip will be settled accordingly.
“We appreciate your patience in the meantime. Kindly confirm how many SportyBet accounts you hold and your registered contact numbers so we can assist you accordingly. Thanks!”
SportyBet had responded: “We completely understand how you feel. Note that the match was tagged as cancelled by the system awaiting confirmation.
“As per the settlement rules, if a match is interrupted and continued within 48h after initial kickoff, all open bets will be settled with the final result. Otherwise all undecided bets are considered void.
“We once again apologize for the delay in confirming the scores. The facebook link is the official page of the Home team. The other link shared with you is the Iceland Basketball League.
“Please be assured that the settlement was done as per the official scores.”
In another tweet, SportyBet says: “The bet slip will be settled accordingly. We appreciate your patience in the meantime. Kindly confirm how many SportyBet accounts you hold and your registered contact numbers so we can assist you accordingly. Thanks!”
However, @_kennyblaze1391 says, “So back to your reply here…. When was the match replayed, “I need every ounce of explanation you can tender
“You can do me a favor and substantiate your response with major sport websites. Sofascore, flashscores, google and other major ones you know. Don’t come at me with a website you just created and who knows who tf played those games that was uploaded on Facebook.
“Please use the most common and regular sport result tools to substantiate your response.”
SportyBet responds: “The facebook link is the official page of the Home team. The other link shared with you is the Iceland Basketball League.
“Please be assured that the settlement was done as per the official scores.”
@_kennyblaze1391 responds, “The match wasn’t tagged as cancelled by any system. It was cancelled across several major websites including google which I can provide all proofs to.
“You want us to believe the link you provided was indeed the correct information and I say there are a dozens contradiction to that across major websites.
“You need to give more proofs than the ‘please be assured that the settlement was done as per the official scores”… NO I AM NOT ASSURED BECAUSE I DON’T BELIEVE IT.
“I have stomached several reasonable losses on your platform but on this I SAY NO.”
He had also tweeted an accusation: “Everything about you @SportyBet @SportyBetNG is scamming. The only advantage you enjoy is your simple website interface and the ability that to deposit more. Asides that, it has been absolutely zero attention or relation with your customers. You are absolutely worthless. THE WORST IN MY BOOKS.
“Them see am, them dey ignore ni…. @SportyBet I sincerely would be one customer that you won’t intend to offend as normally I can boycot you forever. I did it before and i can do it again. I cannot have this issue on bet9ja and it would get to this stage of absolutely no/ridiculous replies.
