The Taraba branch of Deeper Life Bible Church on Sunday distributed food items and cash to the less privileged in the state to cushion the effects of the economic hardship on them.
The State Director of the church, Pastor Samuel Omajali, while answering questions from newsmen at the end of the combined service to thank God over the just concluded global crusade held by the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor William Kumuyi in Wukari, expressed worry over the difficult situation citizens are going through.
“As we all know, prices of food items and other commodities have been on the rise and there is hardly enough money for people to eat three square meals.
“Therefore, as a church, we can’t sit in our comfort zone and watch those in need to suffer. That is why we chose to put our resources together to improve on lives,” he said.
Omajali noted that the high cost of living has made life unbearable for the poor, adding that government must urgently take measures to stem the tide.
According to him, the distribution of cash and food items is mainly for widows and orphans.
Omajali, who said that God used Pastor Kumuyi to heal many during the global crusade in Wukari, hinted that millions of people testified about the wonders of God in their lives.
He urged privileged members of the church to also extend similar gesture to congregants and those in need around them. (NAN)
