Fake anti-cult fighter allegedly attacks man with dagger in Delta community

A middle aged man called Karo, identified as an anti-cult member, allegedly used a dagger to cut someone’s throat on Coconut Street in Ughoton community of Delta State.

Eyewitnesses report that Karo, operating under the guise of anti-cult activities, has been instilling fear in the people of Ughoton for several years.

The latest incident unfolded when Karo reportedly intercepted an Okada carrying one Meshack and another boy, en route to meet someone on Coconut Street around 10 pm on Wednesday.

Karo halted the bike, questioning the riders. Meshack was said to have explained that they were on an errand to collect something from a friend on the street.

The discussion soon degenerated to an argument, and Karo, allegedly provoked, was said to have slapped Meshack.

The situation reportedly escalated as Karo allegedly brandished a dagger with which he allegedly slashed Meshack’s throat.

Karo was said to have fled the scene, leaving Meshack lying on the ground with blood flowing profusely. Local residents swiftly rushed Meshack to the hospital for immediate treatment.

Police have arrested Karo and they have remanded him custody in Asaba, while doctors diligently work to save Meshack’s life.

Residents said though Karo pretends to fight against cultism, they believe that he maintains a cult gang and that he had been using the cover of anti-cult activities to wreak havoc in Ughoton.

Ughoton residents appeal to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to implore the Delta State Police Command to ensure that Karo faces the full weight of the law for the alleged crime.
