Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has sued his baby’s mother Sophia Momodu before the Lagos State High Court over the custody of their daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke.
The suit marked LD/1587PMC/2024 and dated April 17, 2024, has Mr. David Adedeji Adeleke as applicant, while Ms Sophia Momodu was listed as the sole respondent. The entertainer, via the suit, urged the court to give an order granting joint custody of their daughter Imade.
Davido also urged the court to give an order that will grant him unfettered and unrestricted access to Imade; noting that despite though his relationship with Momodu that led to Imade’s birth had ended some years ago, he had continued to provide all of Imade’s needs, including accommodation, transportation, school fees and holidays, among others.
Since the story broke, observers, fans and followers of the two adults involved have continued to state their opinion.
See the reactions:
In my opinion, Davido taking Sophia to court is concerning. While he should have access to his daughter, court should be a last resort. Legal battles can distress Imade, she is the only looser her as she will he torn between her Dad and Mum.
Ideally, this issue should be settled…— General Snow (@GeneralSnow_) June 20, 2024
This is a very wrong move by Davido as Imade is still very young to be taken away from her mother

Joint custody is what every child need irrespective of what is going on between the parents

The mom is doing a perfect job raising her. It’s a pity how two people will be in love and create a child out of love and suddenly turn to strangers/ Enemies. I don’t want to ever experience this lord.

having a child together doesn’t obligate marriage, and leveraging a child for personal gain is inappropriate. It’s a good thing Davido is taking her to court for joint custody.

He’s not asking too much. He’s only asking for joint custody of their daughter which I believe is his right as a father. His application is worth listening to but let the justice prevail. NJ

“Davido also urged the court to give an order that will grant him unfettered and unrestricted access to Imade”. This sounds like a fair plee to make but acquiring a house in VI for Sophia doesn’t sound right. He could av just sent them the money probably as a gift to purchase…

A good father will always go through this.
As soon as the mother knew how much love the father has for the child, she will definitely use it against him.
Being involved in his kid’s life is something that only good fathers want to do.
A useless father will not care about being…

If this is all of the story, I hope he wins because what’s this madness

This doesn’t look good for both of them I just hope they settle out of court

And the defenders of male rights pitch in:
I was expecting him to file for full custody of the child instead of asking for unfettered access. That is the only way to not fund the lifestyle of the defendant.

She restricted him from seeing his daughter and still collects money from him. Women😂

Why’s dragging the child naw!! Because she knows Davido won’t send her money if the child is not with her lol.

Women supporting women have a say:
He is always in the media. Imade would be 18 soon and all this would have been a thing of the past. But No o, I wanna be in the media.
