The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, says Best Nnanyereugo Benjamin, a.k.a Killaboi, who was declared wanted for murder, has been arrested by the Police in Sierra Leone.
Said Hundeyin, “He was arrested by the Sierra Leonean Police Force and we are working on extraditing him to Nigeria.”
The Lagos State Police Command had declared Nnanyereugo wanted on October 10 for the murder of his girlfriend, Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, an undergraduate at the Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Nnanyereugo was suspected to have murdered the 21-year-old lady on July 13, 2023, in his home at Oral Estate in Ajah area of the state.
A source alleged that Nnanyereugo had changed his name to Kanu Princeton Samuel and had also secured a Sierra Leonean passport on the 28th July 2023, a mere 15 days after he had allegedly murdered Augusta.
The statement declaring the suspect wanted reads in part, “Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted.
“The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently.

However, someone who noticed the activities of the suspect on social media contacted the mother of the deceased young lady and informed her of the development.
“The mother reached out to her lawyer, Chief Femi Falana (SAN), who assisted the family to contact the Sierra Leonean Police authorities.
“When it was confirmed that he had fled the country, the Lagos State Police commissioner, Mr Idowu Ohonbunwa, directed the Lagos State Police Command to declare him wanted. Best was declared wanted on October 10, 2023.
