#OluJacobs #RIPLegend and #BettyIrabor are currently trending on social media platform X.
These hashtags are current social media trends by supposed fans who believe they are reacting to the death of veteran Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs.
This is even as those who claim to know better say the aged actor is alive and not dead.
Disproving the rumoured death, Nigerian columnist, Betty Irabor, in a message posted on her social media account on Sunday states, “Olu Jacob is well and alive.. Please ignore all rumours of his passing. He is alive please.”
Earlier today, the rumour of Jacobs’ death had spread online without official confirmation from family or friends.
However, this is not the first time such news about the veteran actor’s death will hit the social media.
In June 2020, there was similar report that trended on the then Twitter (now X) and Facebook.
The then spokesperson of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Monalisa Chinda-Coker, later debunked the news.
In August 2022, there was also rumour concerning the actor’s death.
His wife, Joke, later debunked the news and threatened legal action against those spreading false news about her husband’s death.
Meanwhile, an undated video was shared on X by @oxygist, showing that the veteran actor is alive:
