Are you young right now—I mean below the age of 30? It almost seems like you can get away with everything and anything. You can smoke regularly and not feel a thing. You can have multiple hangovers throughout the year and still feel like Wonder Woman.
Here’s the thing: there are consequences for your actions. You might think that you are very healthy, but you’re simply laying a bad foundation for your body and health. Even if you are 30 at the moment, there is still time for change. Here are some health choices every woman needs to make before 30:
Quit smoking or avoid starting in the first place
If you think smoking is just you flexing and having fun, think again. You are only laying a bad foundation for your body. According to WebMD, smoking leads to health complications like cervical and rectal cancer. It also leads to health complications that might force you to manage your health, which is bad. So, stay off the cigarettes, and if you have started already, quit smoking altogether.
Find an exercise you enjoy
Working out is great for the body because it helps you remain healthy. However, we cannot enjoy all the exercises. Knowing how important it is to work out, you need to find the one that you love before you are 30. So, try new exercise routines, find the one that you love, and make it a part of your lifestyle because nobody is going to do this for you.
Drink more water
If you prefer soda to water, then you are playing with your health. Learning to drink water more often as a lifestyle is a great way to lose weight, improve your mood, and feel a lot healthier. According to the U.S. National Academies of Science, women need to drink at least 2.7 litres of water daily. This is something you need to make and sustain as a habit for a healthier lifestyle.
Stand a lot more
If your job entails a lot of standing, then you need to find a way to stand a lot more. Sitting causes a lot of health complications, like diabetes, heart disease, obesity, etc. So, find a way to do whatever it is you do without sitting for the entire day.
Learn your family history
Another thing you need to learn as a woman is your family history. If you know your family history as well as some of the health complications that have been in the family, you can tackle them before they become a big problem. The challenge is that we do not bother until the health complication becomes a problem for us. So, ask some of the older members about the health history of the family, and if you find a pattern, run a test and seek professional advice.
Get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep
What is sleep? It is your body’s way of recovering from the stress of the previous day. For full recovery, you need about 7 to 8 hours of sleep. However, most of us women do not even get up to 4 hours of sleep daily, and this leads to a lot of health complications. So, try to get a lot of sleep so you can give your body enough time to recover.
Go for regular health checks
To really manage your health, you need to go for regular health checks. At least get your health checked every quarter to ensure that you do not get any unexpected surprises.
Bottom line
If you want to remain healthy as you grow older, these are some of the things you have to make a part of your lifestyle. Having these things as habits means that they have become a part of your lifestyle, something that you can carry on with even when you are much older.
