How we gather info on military’s movements –Borno bandits’ informant

A suspected informant of the bandits operating in Borno State, Hamisu Abdullahi, has narrated how he and some of his colleagues monitored and revealed the movement of soldiers deployed to the state.

Abdullahi disclosed this in a clip that was posted by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Tuesday night on his X handle.

In the video, the informant, who spoke in Hausa without torture, said he is from Zamfara State and had been operating for a long time.

He revealed how he met wanted thieves in the state, identified as Husaini and Hassan, adding that when Hussaini called him recently, he told him about the movement of soldiers newly deployed to the Borno community.

He said, “We all know that Husaini and Hassan are thieves. They are two of the criminals that the government is looking for.

“He asked me if the government soldiers had come out, and I said yes. He asked me where they went, and I said they went to Gossun. From there, I don’t know where they went again.

When interrogated on the killing of a soldier identified as Almani Abdulhadi, Abdullahi said, “Yes, I told him that they are around. He called me. I told him they had gone towards Kwarsukai and Gussum.”

He added that aside from Hassan and his colleague, he has also worked with Sayyadi Sule, Salisu Kurmaye, Hambali Alhaji Tassiu, Malikki Rabbe, and Hamisu Ado, who were all known for their notoriety in the state.

Abdullahi further said he knew they were criminals while confirming that they all had guns.

He, however, explained how he called the terrorists to attack the soldiers the day they went to the hotspot of the terrorists in Gussum.

Recently, the Defence Headquarters said a Lieutenant of the Nigerian Army was killed, while four other soldiers were wounded during a shootout with terrorists in Borno.
