Internet in a meltdown as Victor Osimhen’s transfer news heats up

The social media is in a meltdown as the news of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s transfer heats up.

The Italian club Napoli and Saudi club Al Ahli have reportedly reached an agreement on the the striker’s transfer to the Arab club.

According to Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano via his verified X handle @FabrizioRomano, the “club to club deal done for €75/80m total package.”

Romano had tweeted: “BREAKING: Napoli reach total agreement with Al Ahli for Victor Osimhen!

“Club to club deal done for €75/80m total package, Al Ahli have already booked a medical. Four year contract worth €25/30m per season net to Osimhen + RELEASE clause. Final green light up to Victor.”

Romano had opined that Al Ahli will ONLY sign ONE between Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, adding, “This is the current plan.”

Romano noted that Chelsea are still working in the background for Victor Osimhen in case he doesn’t give final green light to Al Ahli.

Earlier, Romano had intimated that “Victor Osimhen has still NOT given the green light to Al Ahli on terms despite club-to-club agreement. Osimhen, still talking to Chelsea while #CFC delegation in Napoli trying to find a way until the end.”

This is even as some media are reporting that the Nigerian forward would prefer a move to join Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli in a four-year deal with his former employers; with Napoli expected to earn £67.3m (€80m) plus add-ons for the Nigeria international.

Recall that Osimhen had reportedly agreed to join Chelsea on a €350,000 weekly pay, taking a major step closer to realising his dream Premier League move; but some significant news regarding the Chelsea target reveals that Osimhen would rather ply his trade in the Saudi Pro League.
