Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, has been inducted as an Associate Member of the Professional Statisticians’ Society of Nigeria.
This is in recognition of her contribution to promoting the adoption and use of statistical data for national growth and development, the professional body says.
Performing the induction during the 8th International Conference of PSSN at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi on Friday, the PSSN President, Prof. Waheed Yahya said, “The inductees were separately selected in recognition of their contributions in championing statistics through their professional callings.
“Dr Mujidat Folashade Tinubu-Ojo advocated and championed the interests and well-being of women marketers in the country which brought unquantifiable happiness to hardworking entrepreneurial women.
“Her love for humanity and support for the vulnerable, recently propelled her to enrol over 10,000 children of common traders and less privileged Nigerians into different tertiary institutions across the country on scholarship to eliminate disparity among the children of the rich and the downtrodden.”
Dr. Nasir Kabara represented the Iyaloja at the induction.
