Local government elections in Kano will hold on November 30, 2024.
The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) announced the schedule to journalists on Wednesday.
The Chairman of KANSIEC, Professor Sani Malunfashi, outlined the timeline for the electoral process.
“All campaign activities will commence on September 6, 2024, while expression of interest forms will be available from October 1 and must be submitted by October 18,” he stated.
Professor Malunfashi also mentioned that all candidates would be required to undergo drug tests administered by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) before receiving clearance to participate in the election.
“The elections will be held on November 30, and the results will be announced by December 1,” he assured, emphasising the commission’s dedication to ensuring free and fair elections.
