The founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has appealed to Nigerian youths to stay focused and not let current challenges distract them.
Kumuyi, gave the advice on Wednesday, during an interaction with journalists at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, where he arrived with his wife for a six-day crusade.
The cleric emphasised the importance of keeping their eyes on Jesus Christ, especially during this difficult times.
Kumuyi who was particularly concerned about the youths going back to neopaganism and Yahoo- Yahoo, advised that Nigerian youths should turn to God who will prosper the work of their hands.
“I am telling the young people to look away from the past, look away from the present, look to the future. As a preacher myself I look away from the past, I look away from the present and what might be happening so that we can refocused the young people to look ahead. I can’t be looking ahead too and they are lenient, so together we can make a success of every life.”
According to him, he will be engaging with youths, including students, on Saturday to help them stay on the right path.
“My advice for the youths is that first of all to come and hear because faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. You see not only faith that comes, focus comes, faithfulness comes, whatever we expect even in life we need to hear so that we can be redirected, and look away from the past, look away from the things that surround us, look up and look forward so that you will achieve what God wants them to achieve and what they themselves are passionate about to achieve.”
This interaction is part of the six-day Global Crusade with Kumuyi, GCK, which starts on Thursday, and will take place at Michael Okpara Square. The event is open to everyone and aims to help people experience the power of Jesus Christ, he explained.
Kumuyi’s message of resilience and focus is crucial for youths navigating today’s challenges. By emphasizing the importance of faith and community, he hopes to empower young people to achieve their goals.
On what Enugu people should expect from the crusade, he said “that everyone that comes to this global crusade should expect the solution to whatever problems they have.” – sickness, whatever the sickness maybe and turning around of every life in the direction of God and in the direction of goodness in their lives.”
Speaking in an interview with journalists, the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Reverend Emmanuel Edeh, said the association is in support of the Minister’s conference.
According to him, the conference is their own way of encouraging church leaders to come together.
