Lagos police nab alleged three-man criminal gang

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected fraudsters at Iyana Church Bus Stop in Lagos, following a tip-off from concerned citizens.

The suspects, identified as Orji Chinedu (38), Uche Godwin (37), and Ifeoma Nathaniel (51), were taken into custody on October 9, 2023.

Their alleged unlawful activities centered around luring passengers at Iyana Church Bus Stop, using a Toyota Camry with registration number LSD 497 AA. However, their run came to an abrupt end when sharp-eyed onlookers recognized them and sounded the alarm.

Upon receiving this critical information, officers from the Sabo Division swiftly responded, effecting the suspects’ arrest and seizing their operational vehicle.

Subsequent investigations unveiled the suspects’ deceitful technique, involving the initiation of arguments about hidden dollars in the car’s trunk. This ploy drew unsuspecting victims into the dispute, ultimately leading to their exploitation.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the arrest, affirming that the suspects will face legal proceedings upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
