A middle-aged woman identified as Nimotalahi Folashade Ishola reportedly committed what is suspected to be a suicide by jumping into the Igando River in Lagos State.
According to an eyewitness, Rasaq, who reported the incident at Igando Police Station,”On Saturday, at around 9pm, the woman was among the 12 passengers who boarded our boat at Isuti Jetty going to Totowu, Ogun State. However, during the trip, she removed her life jacket and jumped into the river.
“She left behind a nylon bag, and when we searched it, we found an Alimosho General Hospital registration card and some drugs. We also discovered a bottle of poisonous insecticide.”
Speaking on the matter, SP Benjamin Hundyin, who is the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said, “After the incident was reported at Igando Police Station, detectives were dispatched to the scene, and a search party was formed to recover the body.
“We are currently making efforts to contact the family.”
