A widow is reportedly being held in custody by law enforcement agents following an alleged call to the police by her deceased husband’s family.
Harrison Gwamnishu, founder of Behind Bars Initiative (BBI), disclosed this information.
Gwamnishu shared images depicting the widow with multiple head wounds, alleging that the injuries were inflicted by her late husband’s relations.
He claimed that the cousin of the deceased husband sought to marry the widow, but she declined, resulting in the alleged abuse.
In a subsequent update, Gwamnishu stated that the woman had been arrested by the police in Ejigbo, Lagos State.
This action was reportedly taken because she resisted their attempts to forcefully remove her from the house she had shared with her husband while he was alive.
Gwamnishu has issued a plea to compassionate individuals to intervene and support the woman to obtain justice.
