LeBron James’ mother provided voiceovers for my recent album -Tems

Nigerian musician Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has revealed that it was Gloria Marie James, mother of American professional basketball player LeBron James, who provided voiceovers for her recent album.

The singer’s latest album, Born in the Wild, was released on June 7, 2024.

Tems revealed this in a pre-recorded interview on The Shop podcast, which aired during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Tems and LeBron James were guests on the programme.

Tems rose to popularity after appearing on Wizkid’s single Essence in 2020, earning her first Grammy nomination. Now, the singer has taken home multiple accolades and continues to be at the top of music charts across the globe.

The singer-songwriter has had a fleet of accomplishments, showing off her star power and the waves her music has made on global music charts. She has also been one of the many writers to contribute to iconic American singer Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, Renaissance.

Tems has graced the stages of Coachella and won a Grammy Award.

In a recent interview with media personality Korty EO, Tems disclosed that before rising to fame, she worked as a digital marketer, but her stint in the profession was short-lived, as she was demoted to a personal assistant due to her struggles with the job.

“I was doing digital marketing and I got demoted to a personal assistant. I was bad at the job, but I tried my best. I just couldn’t believe that was my job. I was shouted at so much, and everything I did seemed to annoy everyone,” the globally-rated star said.

In response to Tems’ revelation about his mother, LeBron James went on to talk about what his mother Gloria does that nobody knows.

“Gloria does things worth noting but maybe not sharing. If I could…. If I secret recorded my mom, I don’t know if I’ll be able to put it out. Some of the stuff she says….” the billionaire basketball star said.
