Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi will embark on a talent hunt across the 23 local government areas of Benue on July 15.
This is contained in a statement issued by the club’s Secretary, Terhemen Saawuan and head coach, Eugene Agagbe, on Monday in Makurdi.
The club said that the programme is aimed discovering talents in order to strengthen the team for the upcoming season.
It said the team would reconvene on July 15 for preparations ahead of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season billed to commence in August.
“Upon resumption, the team will undertake a pre-season training and player registration processes in accordance with NFF/NPFL regulations,” it stated.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team finished sixth on the league table in the 2023/2024 season.
NAN reports that the club played all its home matches at the Lafia township stadium, to allow for reconstruction of the Aper Aku Stadium, home of the club. (NAN)
