Man allegedly caught with daughter’s head

A man named Emmanuel Ovwarueso was reportedly captured in Uteh, Benin City, Edo State, by the operatives of Edo State Security Network (ESSN) for allegedly murdering his daughter.

One of the ESSN members provided details of the alleged murder.

“At midnight, we saw him walking swiftly, as if he was in a rush to catch a flight. We approached him, but he resisted our attempts.

“He was carrying a polythene bag. When we asked him what was inside, he claimed it was his food. However, upon inspecting the bag, we found a human head,” the source said.

It was reported that the suspect had beheaded his daughter in front of his wife.

Continuing the account, the ESSN member stated, “When we questioned him, his manner of speaking clearly indicated that he was hiding something.

“Consequently, we accompanied him to his home, where we found his wife bound. After freeing her, she revealed that it was her husband who had tied her down with a rope before killing their daughter.

“The suspect then led us to the spot where he had buried the little girl’s body in a shallow grave. We immediately exhumed the girl’s remains,” added the ESSN member.

According to online sources, the suspect’s wife had reportedly noticed a change in her husband’s behavior before the incident.

“Lately, my husband kept saying that I should stop seeing him as a poor man. At his workplace, he would buy drinks for everyone.

“He even mentioned that his wealth was just around the corner. Little did we know that he had intentions of using our daughter for rituals,” the woman reportedly said.

As of now, the suspect has reportedly been handed over to the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police for further investigation.
