A 13-year-old girl has been allegedly defiled by a man identified as Livi Timothy at Ajao Estate area in Lagos State.
The case was reported by a concerned citizen to a representative of Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN).
ACVPN officer who visited the neighbourhood to confirm the incident gathered that Timothy usually sent the teenage girl on errands at every opportunity.
On the day the incident happened, ACVPN officer alleged that Timothy sent the girl to buy soft drink and that when she came back with the drink, he instructed her to come inside with it, and when she entered the apartment, he shared the drinks into two different cups and gave her one part to drink.
The officer further alleged that immediately the victim took the drink, she became dizzy and could not control herself anymore.
By the time she regained her senses, the ACVPN officer said, the girl felt pain on her private part.
ACVPN said that the case was officially reported to the Ajao Estate Police Division and that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) had instructed the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) to follow up the matter.
The case was today transferred to the Gender Unit, Ikeja, for further investigation and proper prosecution.
