The police in Lagos State say they have arrested a man, Olamilekan, for allegedly beating up his ex-wife, Mary OlaOluwa, and inflicting grievous injuries on her with a stone in the Ikorodu area.
Olamilekan was said to have accosted his ex-wife on her way to the market, and an argument had ensued between them.
The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said it occurred on Monday, January 25, 2024 and that the victim who was drenched in her own blood was brought to the station by people who rescued her from the grip of the estranged husband.
He explained that, “The lady reported at the station that around 2pm on Monday while she was going to her shop located around Bako Estate, her ex-husband, Olamilekan, stopped her and inquired about their children. She said her response got him angry, hence that he gave her the beating of her life.”
Hundeyin added that the woman was rushed to a hospital.
