Minimum wage: Enugu approves N80K

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has announced the approval of N80,000 minimum wage for Enugu workers, effective October 2024.

He shared the news via his official X account on Thursday, marking a significant development for workers in the state.

This update is aligned with Governor Mbah’s vision to enhance the quality of life for Enugu residents. As the founder of the Peter Mbah Foundation, he has demonstrated his commitment to improving living standards in rural communities and human capital development.

His administration aims to make Enugu one of the top three states in Nigeria in terms of Gross Domestic Product, with a goal to achieve a zero percent poverty headcount index.

He however, wrote: “I have just approved a minimum wage of N80,000 for Enugu workers, effective October 2024.

“We appreciate the hard work and sacrifices of the state’s workforce and will continue to prioritise their welfare in line with our campaign promises.
