The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting a three-day spell of dust, haze and cloudiness across Nigeria, spanning Wednesday to Friday.
According to NiMet’s weather outlook, the northern region is expected to experience dust haze on Wednesday, with visibility ranging from 2km to 5km.
This condition is likely to be prominent in states such as Kano, Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa, the forecast says.
Additionally, the North Central region is expected to witness sunny intervals with a few clouds in the morning hours.
As the day progresses, a hazy atmosphere with scattered clouds is expected over certain parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Kogi, Kwara, Niger and Benue States.
Meanwhile, in the southern parts of the country, cloudy conditions with occasional periods of sunshine are anticipated.
Also, morning thunderstorms are forecasted for states including Lagos, Delta, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa-Ibom, and later in the day, while isolated thunderstorms will feature in parts of Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Anambra, Imo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Lagos, Cross-River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.
On Friday, NiMet said it foresees a continuation of the dust haze in the northern Nigeria, with the North Central region expecting sunny skies and intermittent cloud cover during the morning hours.
