…Pledges support for conjoined twins

A heartwarming start to 2024 unfolded in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory as Boluwatife Johnson became the first baby born on a new year at the National Hospital, marking a unique occurrence after a three-year gap.

Mrs Tinubu took the opportunity to advocate for maternal health and awareness about HIV/AIDS among expectant mothers. She urged Nigerians to collaborate with the government to adopt hospitals and wards, contributing to the enhancement of healthcare delivery nationwide.

While with the women, she extended her commitment to healthcare improvement as she pledged to bear the costs for the surgery of a set of conjoined twins she came across during her hospital visit.

Pledging the support through her not-for-profit, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), the First Lady assured the Chief Medical Director, Prof Mohammed Raji Mahmood, of assistance in facilitating the surgery to separate the twins.
