The Lagos State Government has demolished makeshift structures built on drainage and along the road leading to the Ora-Ekpen/Ifelodun community in Gbagada.
This was made known by the Commissioner of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, via his verified X handle @tokunbo_wahab on Thursday.
He said the ministry embarked on the exercise following the complaints of landlords and other stakeholders in the area.
The commissioner had tweeted: “Acting on the complaints received from residents of Ora-Ekpen/Ifelodun Residents and Plot Owners Association, the enforcement team of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, yesterday [Wednesday], removed shanties, kiosks, and makeshift structures built on drainage and along the road leading to the community.
