Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder, Mikel Obi, has recently undergone surgical intervention at the Princess Grace Hospital in the United Kingdom, and is currently recuperating in the health facility.
The football star revealed this in photos shared on his Instagram story on Saturday.
He, however, did not disclose the nature of the surgery.
Sharing a picture he took before the surgery, he wrote, “Pre-op, let’s go.”
Another picture of him lying on the bed at the hospital post-surgery was captioned, “All good, #PostOp.”
In April 2017, Obi also underwent a successful surgery in the UK after which he began rehabilitation for proper recovery.
He had also shared pictures of the surgery on his Instagram page.
He also expressed how sad he was about his absence from his then Chinese club, Tianjin TEDA.
“Surgery went well, rehab next… can’t wait to be back ⚽️?? shame I can’t be on the pitch fighting with my team #TianjinTEDA #TEDAFightingFightingFighting,” he wrote in the 2017 post.
He then commenced rehabilitation for proper recovery as he shared recovery pictures and video, which he captioned, “On the road to recovery ?? can’t wait to get back on the pitch with TEDA and my National Team.”
