In a somber response to the Christmas Eve harrowing killings in Plateau State, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has expressed profound grief over the attacks that have left the state mourning.
Reports indicate that about 150 individuals lost their lives in the fresh wave of assaults on various communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government areas of the state.
As of Wednesday, many survivors are still undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during the attacks.
The wife of the president extended her heartfelt condolences to the surviving victims and the bereaved families, emphasizing the need for swift justice.
Tinubu stated: “I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGA which have resulted in the devastating loss of many lives,” according to an official statement signed by her Special Adviser, Media, Busola Kukoyi.
Expressing her sympathy further, Tinunu said: “My earnest sympathy goes out to the victims affected in this very sad incident. It is my hope that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are apprehended and swiftly brought to book, concluding with prayers for the attackers to repent.”
She noted that the aftermath of the attacks has left a staggering toll, with over 10,000 people displaced from their homes, adding, “As Plateau State grapples with the aftermath of this tragedy, the nation watches closely as we await justice for the victims and their families.”
