The Police in Lagos on Monday arraigned two estate agents, Lukman Akande and Justice Odion, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged N1.5 million fraud.

The defendants – Akande, 43, and Odion, 34 – whose addresses were not provided, are standing trial on two counts of fraud and breach of the peace.

The prosecutor, Insp Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that‎ the defendants committed the offences on July 26, at 4.00.p.m., at Power Line Atunshe Bus Stop, Era Road, Ijanikin area, Lagos.

The prosecutor stated that the defendants fraudulently obtained the sum of N1.5 million from one Mr. Yomi Obafusu, with the guise of hiring an unused viewing centre.

He said that the defendants hired the centre but failed to remit the money to the property owner.

“The defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace, by refusing to remit the proceeds of the centre to the owner.
