Police identify officer who allegedly stabbed civilian to death in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of one Anosikwa Patrick who was allegedly stabbed by a police officer at the Skymall shopping mall, Ajah on Saturday April 20, 2024.

In a statement on Sunday, April 21, the command’s image-maker, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said that the police officer had been identified, giving his name as Inspector Taofeek who is member of visiting 12 PMF Squadron to Lagos.

He stated that the Manager and Chief Security Officer of the mall were already in custody to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Hundeyin added that the Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, had directed detectives of the Homicide Section at the State Criminal Investigation Department to ensure a speedy and diligent investigation towards ensuring that the culprit is brought to book.

He promised members of the public that they would be kept abreast of the investigation as it progresses.
