The Police Command in Delta says they have apprehended a kidnap suspect and recovered a Beretta pistol from him.
Spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, told newsmen on Tuesday in Warri that the suspect, simply identified as Small Juju, is also a cult member.
Edafe said that the alleged hoodlum was nabbed on Friday by the Command’s Special Squad deployed to Ughelli.
He said that the police team led by ASP Julius Robinson trailed the suspect to his residence at Uwagba Community in Okpe Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, were he was arrested.
“Acting on information by some of the suspects earlier arrested in connection with kidnapping and cultism by the Command’s Special Squad deployed to Ughelli, on May 24, the special team led by ASP Robinson trailed and arrested a suspect simply identified as ‘Small Juju’ aged (34) at his residence in Okpe LGA.
“One Beretta pistol was recovered from his house and investigation further revealed that he is a member of Eiye confraternity,” he said.
Edafe said that the suspect also confessed to have gotten the pistol from a suspected gun runner currently in the police custody.
The police spokesman added that the command had intensified efforts to apprehend other members of the gang. (NAN)
