The Police is trying to unravel how a 90-year-old Mrs. Dorcas Taiwo declared missing, died and her corpse dumped at Itele Cemetery Ijebu area of Ogun State on Monday.
The deceased was a resident of the community where her mutilated body was found. The Oladunni family had been frantically searching for her after she disappeared on Sunday evening.
According to the daughter of the deceased, Adekoya Saidat, the victim was a resident of the Ododagunja area of the community before she was found dead with her body mutilated.
The Ogun State Police Command suggested that her death might be related to ritual killing due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding it. Already, a suspect in connection with the death of the 90-year-old woman has been arrested.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating: “The daughter reported the incident at the Ogbere police division around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
“Men of the division were immediately deployed to the scene. One suspect has been arrested so far.
“In the meantime, the corpse has been deposited at the Ijebu-Ode mortuary while the investigation is ongoing”.
