Netizens across social media platforms have reacted to a banner considered rather blasphemous about Jesus Christ displayed at the gate of the Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos State.
Many people take objection to the banner especially because it was flown at a time the world is preparing for a global celebration like Christmas, which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.
The inscription on the banner which went viral on Wednesday reads, “Jesus Christ is not God. He is a Prophet and Messenger of God!”
The banner also quoted Quran 5:72 as saying, “Allah says, They have disbelieved those who say that God is the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary. While the Messiah had said, ‘Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord. God has forbidden Paradise to anyone who worships something else besides Him.’”
However, reactions have continued to trail the message, with some arguing that the motive behind it was blasphemous.

There’s nothing wrong with that as it is not written anywhere that one must mind his business,
But my own is that,
If the table turns tomorrow,
Make Bashir, Reno and the rest of them accept it just as we are accepting this now…— ATL Jacob 🇺🇲🇳🇬 (@JacobAmeh6) December 18, 2024
Is Mohammed a prophet? If they can prove he’s a prophet, and he posseses the trait of a prophet:
I will prove to them that Jesus Christ is God , and He has the trait of God in him.

🚨 Wrong of course.
⚠️ First, places of worship should not be a place for propaganda, stirring up strife, or inciting others, no matter what your opinion of them and their beliefs is.
⚠️ Second, belief and faith are optional, not mandatory. Even Allah/God Almighty did not force…— عبدالماجد موسى (@seysaban13) December 18, 2024
There goes the Religion of peace

Authorities shouldn’t allow this
It is religiously aggravating

Some unscrupulous religious fanatics are behind this nonsense. South West doesn’t have time for religious extremism but tolerance and peace.

“Very peaceful religion”

I drive pass this mosque a lot and everytime I reminisce how if this was a church banner about Muhammed at least 1 person would have been buried in that church.
You can’t give what you don’t have, you might enjoy it, know it, experience it and admire it but you can’t dish it. https://t.co/1miZeXH2Bf

So much for being a religion of tolerance. Imagine if a church put up a banner on its premises saying, “Mohammed is a f@lse prophet.” How do you think that would go over? Let me set the record straight because it’s clear that whoever wrote that banner either lacks understanding…

This is delusional from the mosque and the Muslim people behind this. We have to respect every other people religion and beliefs.
This is why most people don’t rate Muslim religion because they are fond of meddling in other religions
