On New Year’s Eve, a commercial sex worker identified as Vera was allegedly stabbed to death by an unidentified man.
This tragic incident reportedly unfolded at a hotel in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the suspect, a client of the deceased, had requested the services of the commercial sex worker but later refused to make payment.
According to eye witness reports, an argument ensued between Vera and the allegedly drunk customer. During the commotion, the latter was said to have broken a bottle of beer and stabbed Vera around the neck.
Eyewitness reports also claim that the suspect immediately fled the scene, leaving the victim in a pool of blood.
Commenting on the issue, one of the commercial sex workers at the brothel said, “Vera was a very friendly and jovial girl. She was also the oldest sex worker among us. Even our madam isn’t a troublesome person, so I don’t understand why the man refused to pay after sleeping with her.
“And he killed her for demanding her money. Honestly, we are very shocked about what happened. I’m suspecting that everything was spiritually manipulated.”
Reacting to the report, DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police spokesman, confirmed the incident and assured the public that the suspect would be traced and arrested as soon as possible.
