Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has announced that Ms. Tania Okpala, formerly US-based ex-tennis player, is now in the custody of the State Government.
According to a post on his official X [formerly Twitter] handle, the governor tweeted:
Tanya Okpala (Fmr Tennis champion) is now in the custody of the Anambra State Government. She was with the Commissioner of Women Affairs when my wife spoke with her on the phone. My government will ensure her rehabilitation and fruitful reunion with her daughter and family.

Recall that Ms. Okpala was captured in a viral video on social media by a good spirited member of the public on the streets.
She looked distressed and unstable in the said video, prompting the quick response by the Anambra State Government to rehabilitate and reunite her with her family.
