Student allegedly pushed to death by colleagues on revenge mission

A male student at the Community Secondary School Rumuapara, Nkpolu Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been reported dead in a road crash.

The incident happened on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at about 8AM in front of the school located at Mobil Junction, East West Road, Port Harcourt.

The student, Kelechi, was an SS3 student at the school.

Eyewitness accounts from fellow students suggest that the unfortunate event was a culmination of escalating tensions. According to reports, the day before the incident, a group of SS3 boys, including Kelechi, had allegedly beaten up one Precious, a JSS3 student, “for being disrespectful.”

The following morning, eyewitnesses said, the victim of the school bullying, accompanied by a group of friends, sought retaliation for the assault.

The deceased, Kelechi, who was a part of the group responsible for the previous day’s assault, found himself confronted by the opposing group outside the school premises.

In an attempt to evade further conflict, Kelechi reportedly fled and inadvertently entered the main road, where he was fatally crushed and killed by an oncoming Toyota Camry with number plate Rivers AFM-240SN.
