Management of University of Benin (UNIBEN) has revealed that the three students rescued from the collapsed storey building at Ekosodin community are now in stable condition at the hospital.
Recall that some UNIBEN students were trapped under the rubble of a collapsed-storey building on Ekhator Street, Ekosodin on Saturday.
The incident was caused by a downpour that began on Friday in Benin and lasted until Saturday morning.
A rescue team was deployed to the scene to extract injured students, with some requiring hospitalisation.
Giving an update on the incident, UNIBEN management said the hospitalised students are now in stable condition.
The institution stated that the stuxents were first taken to UNIBEN’s health centre while two students were transferred to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
It said, “The management wishes the affected students speedy recovery and commends the rescue team for their gallantry.”
