In commemoration of the 2024 World Teachers Day, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has declared Monday, October 7 as public holiday for teachers and students.
It is said that schools would not be opened to the students on the day.
A statement from the Academic Staff Union of Secondary School on Saturday said, “Breakings, as requested by the ASUSS Chairman, Comrade (Dr) Felix Oluwaseun, for a special public holiday on Monday to mark the celebration, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, has graciously declared Monday 7th, October 2024, as a public holiday for the teachers in Ogun State.
The Abiodun administration enjoined students to stay at home on the said date, adding that teaching and learning activities would resume on Tuesday, October 8.
