The Kwara State Police Command has apprehended two suspects, Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju, residing in the Shao Garage area of Ilorin for allegedly slitting the throat of a neighbor following a disagreement.
According to report, the incident occurred around past 12am on Monday in the Shao Garage area, Ilorin.
A source told PUNCH Metro that the victim’s brother, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, was alerted by a resident’s outcry and discovered his younger brother, Abubakar Babatunde, in a critical condition with a slit throat, bleeding profusely.
“He was rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for medical attention,” the source said.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident when contacted.
She stated that two suspects had been taken into custody in connection with the incident and assured that appropriate actions would be taken once the investigation is concluded.
